25 LC 112 3062 House Resolution 324 By: Representatives Au of the 50th, Hilton of the 48th, Silcox of the 53rd, Martin of the 49th, and Jones of the 47th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Student Leadership NORTH; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Student Leadership NORTH, formerly known as Student Le adership Johns2 Creek, is a collaborative effort between business and civic lea ders to provide leadership3 training to local youth; and4 WHEREAS, the mission of Student Leadership NORTH is to develop, energize, and activate5 community leaders in Johns Creek, Roswell, and Alpharetta by pr oviding students with6 meaningful interactions with city, business, and government executives to inspire positive7 change; and8 WHEREAS, Student Leadership NORTH offers a two-year leadership program for emerging9 leaders in their sophomore and junior years from Centennial, Chattahoochee, Johns Creek,10 and Northview high schools; Mt. Pisgah School; Providence Christian Academy; Innovation11 Academy; and Alpharetta High School; and12 WHEREAS, in the first year of the program, students develop lea dership skills through13 structured learning experiences and apply them to community ser vice projects, while the14 H. R. 324 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3062 second year focuses on individualized opportunities to implement these skills beyond high15 school and college; and16 WHEREAS, the program's success is evident in its graduates, with 17 percent attending Ivy17 League schools, 93 percent attending top 50 colleges, and 100 p ercent attending top 10018 colleges; and19 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this outstand ing organization be20 appropriately honored.21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that22 the members of this body recognize and commend Student Leadersh i p N O R T H f o r i t s23 exceptional service in developing young leaders and extend best wishes for continued24 success.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized26 and directed to make an appr opriate copy of t his resolution ava ilable for distribution to27 Student Leadership NORTH.28 H.
