25 LC 112 2972 House Resolution 325 By: Representatives Dunahoo of the 31st, McCollum of the 30th, Hawkins of the 27th, Dubnik of the 29th, Cox of the 28th, and others A RESOLUTION Congratulating the North Hall High School cross country program for its outstanding1 achievements during the 2024 season; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the North Hall High School cross country program has l ong demonstrated a3 commitment to excellence, developing student-athletes who embod y perseverance,4 discipline, and sportsmanship; and5 WHEREAS, the 2024 cross country season was a historic and record-breaking year for North6 Hall High School, highlighted by the girls team winning the GHS A Class 3A State7 Championship—the first-ever girls state title in any sport in the school's history; and8 WHEREAS, the North Hall girls secured the championship in dominant fashion, placing five9 runners in the top 14 at the state meet, with senior Clodagh O'Bryant earning the individual10 state championship title after an outstanding career as a four- time region champion and11 school record holder in the 1600-meter and 3200-meter events; and12 WHEREAS, the girls team saw additional all-state performances f rom Summer Muxlow,13 who finished second, and Harleigh Smith, who placed fifth; and14 H. R. 325 - 1 - 25 LC 112 2972 WHEREAS, the North Hall boys cross country team also had an exc eptional season,15 finishing as the GHSA Class 3A State Runner-Up, led by senior Bryant Young, who secured16 third place individually and earned all-state honors; and17 WHEREAS, the success of the North Hall High School cross countr y program extends18 beyond the high school level as the middle school boys team additionally captured its third19 consecutive state championship; and20 WHEREAS, the achievements of the North Hall cross country program are the result of the21 dedication and hard work of its student-athletes as well as the leadership of coaches Sam22 Borg, Art Dacosta, Jill Borg, and Lindsey Green; and23 WHEREAS, as these magnificent teams earned their well-deserved reputations for24 excellence by performing with courage and precision over months of training and25 competition, it is abundantly proper to call them champions.26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27 the members of this body congratulate the North Hall High Schoo l cross country program28 for its outstanding achievements during the 2024 season and ext end best wishes for29 continued success.30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to North32 Hall High School.33 H.
