25 LC 112 3078 House Resolution 360 By: Representative Mitchell of the 88th A RESOLUTION Recognizing March 5, 2025, as Small Business Day at the state capitol and commending the1 "Capitalize Georgia: Empowering Financial Futures and Business Excellence Symposium";2 and for other purposes.3 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia recognizes the vital contributions of small businesses to4 economic prosperity, job creation, and community development across the state; and5 WHEREAS, Small Business Day, celebrated on March 5, 2025, highl ights the6 entrepreneurial spirit and resilience of small business owners and their role as a cornerstone7 of Georgia's economy; and8 WHEREAS, the "Capitalize Georgia: Empowering Financial Futures and Business9 Excellence Symposium," held on Small Business Day at the Georgi a State Capitol,10 exemplifies Georgia's commitment to advancing financial literacy, business excellence, and11 empowerment; and12 WHEREAS, the symposium is led by esteemed hosts Dr. Jacqueline Mohair, Dr. Sonya13 Hamm, and Dr. Dorothea (Dee) Dawkins-Haigler, whose leadership and dedication have14 been pivotal in creating this impactful event; and15 H. R. 360 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3078 WHEREAS, the commendable support and leadership of Rep. Billy Mitchell in welcoming16 and promoting this symposium underscore the Georgia House of Representatives' dedication17 to supporting small businesses and fostering economic growth; and18 WHEREAS, this symposium features a distinguished lineup of spea kers, including Dr.19 Dorothea (Dee) Dawkins-Haigler, Dr. Jacqueline Mohair, Dr. Sony a Hamm, Rep. Doreen20 Carter, Ms. Teresa Hardy, Rep. Dar'shun Kendrick, Ms. Erica-Antoinette Slaton, Dr. Tanya21 Wiley Brown, Dr. Angela Cudger, and Rep. Billy Mitchell, each p roviding invaluable22 insights into financial literacy and entrepreneurial success; and23 WHEREAS, the event is made possible through collaboration with renowned organizations24 such as the TIUA School of Business, The Organization of World Leaders, Top Ladies of25 Distinction, and Trinity Girls Network Corp., which have signif icantly contributed to its26 success; and27 WHEREAS, the symposium serves as a vital platform for small bus iness owners,28 entrepreneurs, and community leaders to exchange ideas, network , and gain actionable29 insights, advancing the financial well-being and business devel opment of Georgia's small30 business community.31 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that32 the members of this body recognize March 5, 2025, as Small Busi ness Day at the state33 capitol and commend the "Capitalize Georgia: Empowering Financial Futures and Business34 Excellence Symposium" as a cornerstone event for advancing fina ncial literacy, business35 excellence, and empowerment in the state.36 H.
