25 LC 112 3099 House Resolution 355 By: Representatives Cox of the 28th, McDonald III of the 26th, Jasperse of the 11th, Barrett of the 24th, Jones of the 25th, and others A RESOLUTION Congratulating Katie Andrews of Central Forsyth High School for winning the 2024 GHSA1 6A-7A State All Around Gymnastics Competition; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Katie Andrews is a role model for aspiring student-athletes whose success both3 inside and outside of the classroom demonstrates that excellence is achievable through hard4 work and passion; and5 WHEREAS, with a GPA of 3.93, Katie has balanced her academic pursuits with a rigorous6 training schedule; and7 WHEREAS, her years of training and competition have resulted in victories and placements8 at numerous events, including the 2024 Nationals Qualifier, 2023-2024 Regionals Qualifier,9 and the 2024 GHSA 6A-7A State All Around Gymnastics Competition, which she won after10 finishing atop bars and floor with a runner-up finish in the beam; and11 WHEREAS, her superior skill, strategy, stamina, and control have earned her the respect and12 admiration of her teammates and challengers; and13 H. R. 355 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3099 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the superlati ve abilities of this14 accomplished and gifted student-athlete, as well as the pride, honor, and respect she has15 brought to herself, her school, and her community, be appropriately honored.16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that17 the members of this body recognize and commend Katie Andrews on her remarkable18 achievements in both gymnastics and the classroom as well as extend best wishes for success19 in the future.20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized21 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Katie22 Andrews.23 H.
