LC 46 1114 House Bill 573 By: Representatives Stephens of the 164th, Sainz of the 180th, and Hawkins of the 27th A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT To amend Chapter 21A of Title 33 of the Official Code of Georgi a Annotated, relating to1 Medicaid care management organizations, so to remove dentists from participation with care2 management organizations; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for3 other purposes.4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:5 SECTION 1.6 Chapter 21A of Title 33 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to Medicaid care7 management organizations, is amended by revising paragraph (6) of Code Section 33-21A-2,8 relating to definitions, as follows: 9 (6) 'Health care services' has the same meaning as in paragrap h (5) of Code Section10 33-21-1 means any services included in the furnishing to any individual of medical care11 or hospitalization or incident to the furnishing of such care or hospitalization, as well as12 the furnishing to any person of any and all other services for the purpose of preventing,13 alleviating, curing, or healing human illness or injury. Such term shall not include dental14 services.15 H. B. 573 - 1 - LC 46 1114 SECTION 2.16 Said chapter is further amended by repealing and reserving Code Section 33-21A-8, relating17 to participation by dentists. 18 SECTION 3. 19 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.20 H.
