25 LC 112 3091 House Resolution 366 By: Representatives Burnough of the 77th, Scott of the 76th, Alexander of the 66th, Bell of the 75th, and Hugley of the 141st A RESOLUTION Congratulating and commending Joy Walston for receiving the 2025 Yellow Rose Nikki T.1 Randall Servant Leadership Award; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, in 1999, Representative Nikki T. Randall became the fi rst African American3 female elected to the General Assembly from middle Georgia, and over her 17 years of4 service as a legislator, she held numerous leadership positions, including chair of the Georgia5 Women's Legislative Caucus; and6 WHEREAS, every year during Women's History Month, the Georgia Women's Legislative7 Caucus recognizes outstanding women in Georgia who exemplify th e leadership and8 inspiration embodied by Representative Randall; and9 WHEREAS, Joy Walston has devoted more than a decade of service the senior community10 at the Frank Bailey Senior Center, beginning her journey as a program aide in 2012 before11 advancing to the role of fitness instructor in 2016, health and fitness coordinator in 2018, and12 program coordinator in 2021, ultimately becoming center manager in November 2021; and13 H. R. 366 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3091 WHEREAS, throughout her tenure, she has played a vital role in promoting senior wellness14 by developing and expanding health and fitness programs, encouraging healthy living, and15 fostering an environment where seniors feel empowered to prioritize their well-being; and16 WHEREAS, Joy Walston has established a glowing reputation of renown throughout Clayton17 County, Georgia, for her dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to enriching18 the lives of seniors; and19 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this20 extraordinary servant leader be appropriately recognized.21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that22 the members of this body congratulate and commend Joy Walston f or receiving the 202523 Yellow Rose Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award and exten d best wishes for her24 continued success.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized26 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Joy27 Walston.28 H.
