25 LC 129 0176 House Resolution 377 By: Representatives McDonald III of the 26th, Persinger of the 119th, Efstration of the 104th, Gaines of the 120th, and Wiedower of the 121st A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending William Wright on his outstanding pu blic service; and for1 other purposes.2 WHEREAS, William Wright has long been recognized by the citizen s of this state for the3 vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the welfare4 of the citizens of Georgia; and5 WHEREAS, he has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,6 talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state, as evidenced7 dramatically by his superlative service as the emergency communications director of Barrow8 County Emergency Communications; and9 WHEREAS, throughout his distinguished career, he has provided c ritical emergency10 management coordination during several local and federally-declared disasters, including the11 Flood of 1990 in McCaysville/Copper Hill, Tennessee; the Blizza rd of 1993 in Fannin12 County; the Ice Storm of 2000 in Gilmer County; and most recent ly, the tragic Apalachee13 High School shooting in September 2024; and14 H. R. 377 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0176 WHEREAS, he has further overseen the coordination, management, and operations of the15 county's Public Safety Answering Point, managed the Barrow Coun ty P25 Public Safety16 Radio System, and ensured departmental compliance with state and federal regulations; and17 WHEREAS, his significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable patience and18 diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state have19 earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates; and20 WHEREAS, William Wright has served with honor and distinction, and his vision and21 unyielding commitment to the safety of his fellow citizens will be sorely missed upon the22 occasion of his retirement; and23 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this24 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that26 the members of this body recognize and commend William Wright for his efficient, effective,27 unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia ; congratulate him upon the28 grand occasion of his retirement; and extend the most sincere b est wishes for continued29 health and happiness.30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to32 William Wright.33 H.
