25 LC 112 3092 House Resolution 378 By: Representatives Jasperse of the 11th, Hagan of the 156th, McDonald III of the 26th, Cox of the 28th, Smith of the 138th, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing February 27, 2025, as Georgia Airports Association Day; and for other1 purposes.2 WHEREAS, there are 95 general aviation airports in the State of Georgia that are essential3 to the state's transportation and economic infrastructure, supp orting diversified industries4 such as technology, manufacturing, distribution, tourism, and agriculture; and5 WHEREAS, these businesses utilize Georgia's airports to transport employees, customers,6 vendors, and goods, which spurs economic development; and7 WHEREAS, the Georgia Statewide Aviation System is also home to an additional eight8 airports that provide for commercial or regularly scheduled air line service, resulting in a9 grand total of 103 publically owned airports; and10 WHEREAS, these airports provide the state with a combined $73.7 billion in annual11 economic activity as well as with more than 450,000 jobs, repre senting $20.2 billion in12 payroll; and13 H. R. 378 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3092 WHEREAS, founded in 1990, the Georgia Airports Association is d edicated to the14 development, growth, and empowerment of airports in the State of Georgia; and15 WHEREAS, this remarkable organization provides its members with access to valuable16 educational and training materials, networking and communicatio n support, and breaking17 industry news and updates; and18 WHEREAS, by providing these vital resources, the Georgia Airports Association enables its19 member airports to make optimal use of their often-limited time and assets, further20 supporting the state's economic growth; and21 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the Georgia A irports Association be22 appropriately honored.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24 the members of this body recognize February 27, 2025, as Georgia Airports Association Day.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized26 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the27 Georgia Airports Association.28 H.
