25 LC 129 0193 House Resolution 372 By: Representatives Carson of the 46th, Stephens of the 164th, Petrea of the 166th, Franklin of the 160th, Bonner of the 73rd, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Minister Dara Calleary on his outstanding public service; and1 for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Minister Dara Calleary has long been recognized by the people of Ireland for3 the vital role he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to the welfare4 of his fellow citizens; and5 WHEREAS, appointed on January 23, 2025, he currently serves as the Irish Minister for6 Social Protection and Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht;7 and8 WHEREAS, prior to his current roles, he served as Minister of State for Trade Promotion,9 Digital and Company Regulation in the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment,10 and in 2020, he held the positions of Minister for Agriculture and Government Chief Whip;11 and12 WHEREAS, he has held several key roles in the Irish government during his distinguished13 tenure, serving concurrently as Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and14 Employment with responsibility for Labour Affairs and as Minist er of State at the15 H. R. 372 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0193 Department of the Taoiseach and the Department of Finance with responsibility for Public16 Service Transformation from 2009 to 2011; and17 WHEREAS, from 2018 to 2020, he served as Deputy Leader of Fianna Fáil, and he has also18 served as Spokesperson on Justice, Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Public Expenditure and19 Reform, and Social Protection; and20 WHEREAS, as additional testament to his dedication to the people of Ireland, he has further21 served as a Teachta Dála for Mayo since first being elected in the 2007 General Election; and22 WHEREAS, Minister Dara Calleary's significant leadership, integrity, and commitment to23 public service have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues, constituents, and24 fellow citizens; and25 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this26 remarkable and distinguished individual be appropriately recognized.27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that28 the members of this body recognize and commend Minister Dara Calleary for his efficient,29 effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service and extend the most sincere best wishes for30 continued health and happiness.31 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized32 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to33 Minister Dara Calleary.34 H.
