25 LC 112 3113 Senate Resolution 258 By: Senators Gooch of the 51st, Dolezal of the 27th, Walker III of the 20th, Setzler of the 37th, Robertson of the 29th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing February 27, 2025, as Georgia Airports Association Day; and for other1 purposes.2 WHEREAS, there are 95 general aviation airports in the State of Georgia that are essential3 to the state's transportation and economic infrastructure, supp orting diversified industries4 such as technology, manufacturing, distribution, tourism, and agriculture; and5 WHEREAS, these businesses utilize Georgia's airports to transport employees, customers,6 vendors, and goods, which spurs economic development; and7 WHEREAS, in total, the State of Georgia is home to 103 publically owned airports, which8 includes eight commercial service airports; and9 WHEREAS, these airports provide the state with a combined $73.7 billion in annual10 economic activity as well as with more than 450,000 jobs, repre senting $20.2 billion in11 payroll; and12 WHEREAS, founded in 1990, the Georgia Airports Association is d edicated to the13 development, growth, and empowerment of airports in the State of Georgia; and14 S. R. 258 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3113 WHEREAS, this remarkable organization provides its members with access to valuable15 educational and training resources, networking and communicatio n support, and breaking16 industry news and updates; and17 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the Georgia A irports Association be18 appropriately honored.19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body20 recognize February 27, 2025, as Georgia Airports Association Day.21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed22 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to the Georgia23 Airports Association.24 S.
