25 LC 39 4677 Senate Resolution 265 By: Senator James of the 28th A RESOLUTION Honoring the life of Mr. Samuel Micah Moon and dedicating an interchange in his memory;1 and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Mr. Samuel Micah Moon was born in Austell, Georgia, on March 30, 2007, the3 beloved son of Beverly La Fleur and Shendi Moon; and4 WHEREAS, Mr. Moon was a STEM student at Lithia Springs High School, with an expected5 graduation date of 2025; and6 WHEREAS, he had a passion for music and enjoyed spending time w ith his friends and7 family, hiking, and fishing; and8 WHEREAS, Mr. Moon's life was tragically cut short on March 4, 2 023, when he was one9 of ten children shot at a sweet 16 birthday party in Douglas County; and10 WHEREAS, known for his amazing sense of humor and infectious sm ile, Mr. Moon will11 long be remembered for his love of family and friendship, and this loyal son and friend will12 be missed by all who had the great fortune of knowing him; and13 S. R. 265 - 1 - 25 LC 39 4677 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkab le and distinguished14 Georgian be recognized appropriately by dedicating an interchange in his memory.15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ENACTED BY THE GENERAL16 ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA that the interchange of Interstate 20 and S tate Route 92 in17 Douglas County is dedicated as the Samuel Micah Moon Memorial Interchange.18 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Transportation is authorized and19 directed to erect and maintain appropriate signs dedicating the Samuel Micah Moon20 Memorial Interchange.21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed22 to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the family of Mr.23 Samuel Micah Moon and to the Department of Transportation.24 S.
