25 LC 129 0217 Senate Resolution 287 By: Senators Still of the 48th, Payne of the 54th, Cowsert of the 46th, Robertson of the 29th, Goodman of the 8th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending the Georgia Festival of Trees; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, since its founding in 2021, the Georgia Festival of Tr ees has united2 communities in the spirit of generosity, service, and celebrati on, advancing its three-fold3 mission of advocacy, volunteerism, and holiday tradition; and4 WHEREAS, at the heart of its mission, the festival raises awareness and critical funding to5 combat the commercial sexual exploitation of women and children in Georgia, supporting6 organizations dedicated to protecting and restoring the lives of survivors; and7 WHEREAS, the festival also fosters a culture of volunteerism and charitable giving, bringing8 together individuals, businesses, and families to serve a great er cause and strengthen9 community bonds; and10 WHEREAS, finally, the Georgia Festival of Trees offers an immersive holiday experience11 filled with dazzling displays and festive activities, providing families and friends with12 opportunities to build cherished traditions and lifetime memories; and13 S. R. 287 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0217 WHEREAS, under the leadership of its founder and executive director, Angie Ulibarri, the14 festival has expanded its reach, engaging volunteers and suppor ters in a shared mission of15 hope and compassion; and16 WHEREAS, Angie Ulibarri's dedication to advocating for children and educating families17 about the dangers of human trafficking has strengthened the fes tival's impact, ensuring its18 purpose extends beyond the holiday season; and19 WHEREAS, the Georgia Festival of Trees and its founder, Angie U libarri, have made a20 profound contribution to the fight against human trafficking wh ile fostering a holiday21 tradition rooted in service and goodwill; and22 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the Georgia Festival of Trees is honored23 not only as a celebration but also as a movement of love, compassion, and the true meaning24 of Christmas.25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body26 recognize the Georgia Festival of Trees, commend it for its many outstanding contributions27 on behalf of those in need, and extend best wishes for its cont inued growth, development,28 and success.29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed30 to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the Georgia Festival31 of Trees and Angie Ulibarri.32 S.
