A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending the Georgia Teacher Leader Consortiu m; and for other1
purposes.2
WHEREAS, the Georgia Teacher Leader Consortium (GTLC) is a dedi cated network of3
National Board Certified teachers and educators who work to enh ance the teaching4
profession in Georgia; and5
WHEREAS, the GTLC has established a nonprofit organization to s upport educators,6
increase the number of National Board Certified teachers in Georgia, and ensure that every7
child has access to accomplished educators, regardless of zip code; and8
WHEREAS, as a proud affiliate of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards,9
the GTLC actively collaborates with local legislators on educational initiatives that align with10
its mission of excellence in teaching and learning; and11
WHEREAS, the GTLC is led by an esteemed board of educators, inc luding Dr. Heavenly12
Montgomery, president and founder; Dr. Elletta Denson, vice pre sident; Deanna Rogers,13
executive director; Natalia Rachel, director of STEM education; Dr. Shannon Flounnory,14
executive director of leadership programs; Charla Fields, director of professional learning;15

Kamasia Wright, director of communications; Altames Larkins, di rector of instructional16
efficacy; and Kartisha Bentley, school leadership advisor; and17
WHEREAS, the dedication and expertise of these leaders have contributed significantly to18
the advancement of teacher advocacy, instructional excellence, and professional growth19
opportunities for educators across Georgia; and20
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this outstand ing organization be21
appropriately honored.22
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23
the members of this body recognize and commend the Georgia Teacher Leader Consortium24
for its invaluable contributions to the teaching profession and its continued efforts to support25
and advocate for educators in Georgia as well as extend best wishes for continued success.26
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized27
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the28
Georgia Teacher Leader Consortium.29
