25 LC 39 4682 Senate Resolution 284 By: Senators Anavitarte of the 31st, Bearden of the 30th, Albers of the 56th, Setzler of the 37th and Robertson of the 29th A RESOLUTION Honoring fallen peace officers of Georgia and dedicating a road in their memory; and for1 other purposes.2 WHEREAS, all residents of Georgia rely on the men and women who put their personal3 safety on the line to keep communities safe from harm; and4 WHEREAS, peace officers in this state devote innumerable hours of their time, talents, and5 energy toward keeping criminals off the streets and uplifting their communities through their6 service; and7 WHEREAS, peace officers exhibit devotion to duty, outstanding loyalty, fine leadership, and8 meticulous attention to detail in their duties; and9 WHEREAS, fallen peace officers have given the ultimate sacrific e to this state and its10 citizens and deserve the utmost respect and condolences; and11 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that these remarka ble and distinguished12 Georgians be recognized appropriately by dedicating a road in their memory.13 S. R. 284 - 1 - 25 LC 39 4682 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ENACTED BY THE GENERAL14 ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA that the portion of State Route 92 from the Douglas County line15 to the Cobb County line is dedicated as the Peace Officer Memorial Highway.16 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Transportation is authorized and17 directed to erect and maintain appropriate signs dedicating the Peace Officer Memorial18 Highway.19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed20 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Department21 of Transportation.22 S.
