25 LC 112 3065 Senate Resolution 303 By: Senators Merritt of the 9th, Islam Parkes of the 7th, Anderson of the 43rd, Mangham of the 55th, Still of the 48th and others A RESOLUTION Congratulating the Brookwood High School girls swim and dive team for winning the 20251 GHSA Class 6A State Swimming and Diving Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Brookwood High School girls swim and dive team has established and3 maintained a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphasis on character and academics;4 and5 WHEREAS, excellent performance, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made6 this team a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, a nd as a fitting finale to its7 remarkable 2025 campaign, the team captured its second consecut ive state title with a8 decisive 427-269 victory over runner-up Harrison; and9 WHEREAS, the team was led by Nicole Amike, who earned individua l state titles in the10 50-yard and 100-yard freestyles as well as contributed to the w inning 200-yard freestyle11 relay team along with Sophie Hamilton, Hailey Dopson, and Amelia Moore; and12 WHEREAS, as additional testament to the team's exemplary performance, Hailey Dopson13 also secured an individual state title in the 100-yard backstroke; and14 S. R. 303 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3065 WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding15 athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit demonstrated by each16 member; and17 WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by18 performing with courage and precision over months of training a nd competition, it is19 abundantly proper to call them champions.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body21 congratulate the Brookwood High School girls swim and dive team for winning the 202522 GHSA Class 6A State Swimming and Diving Championship and extend best wishes for their23 continued success.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed25 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Brookwood26 High School girls swim and dive team.27 S.
