25 LC 39 4703 Senate Bill 305 By: Senators Anderson of the 43rd, Harbison of the 15th, Lucas of the 26th, Sims of the 12th and Davenport of the 17th A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT To amend Code Section 40-2-86 of the Official Code of Georgia A nnotated, relating to1 special license plates promoting or supporting certain worthy agencies, funds, or nonprofit2 corporations with proceeds disbursed to the general fund and the agency, fund, or nonprofit3 corporation, so as to establish a specialty license plate honor ing alumni of Alabama State4 University; to provide for related matters; to provide for an e ffective date; to provide for5 compliance with constitutional requirements; to repeal conflict ing laws; and for other6 purposes.7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:8 SECTION 1.9 Code Section 40-2-86 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to special license10 plates promoting or supporting certain worthy agencies, funds, or nonprofit corporations with11 proceeds disbursed to the general fund and the agency, fund, or nonprofit corporation, is12 amended by adding a new paragraph to subsection (l) to read as follows:13 "(71) A special license plate honoring alumni of Alabama State University. The funds14 raised by the sale of this special license plate shall be disbu rsed to the Alabama State15 University Metro Atlanta Alumni Chapter."16 S. B. 305 - 1 - 25 LC 39 4703 SECTION 2.17 In accordance with the requirements of Article III, Section IX, Paragraph VI(n) of the18 Constitution of the State of Georgia, this Act shall not become law unless it receives the19 requisite two-thirds' majority vote in both the Senate and the House of Representatives.20 SECTION 3.21 This Act shall become effective on January 1, 2026.22 SECTION 4.23 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.24 S.
