25 LC 112 3194 House Resolution 447 By: Representatives Dickey of the 134th, Stinson of the 150th, and Ballard of the 147th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Nya Aaliyah Floyd; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Nya Aaliyah Floyd, a distinguished and accomplished yo ung woman from2 Lithonia, Georgia, has demonstrated exceptional academic achiev ement, leadership, and3 dedication to service throughout her educational journey; and4 WHEREAS, as a first-generation college student, she earned an associate degree in business5 administration from Herzing University with an outstanding 3.9 GPA and is currently6 pursuing a Bachelor of Science in agriculture at Fort Valley State University, with plans to7 graduate this year and pursue her passion for working with animals; and8 WHEREAS, deeply committed to student engagement and community s ervice, she is an9 active member of the Truth Poetry Club, New Student Orientation Leaders, Fort Valley State10 University's Choir, Royal Elite Modeling Troupe, and Miss Mary Magdalene; and11 WHEREAS, she has further distinguished herself through membersh ip in esteemed12 organizations, having been initiated into the Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity,13 Incorporated, Phi Zeta Chapter in Spring 2023 as well as the De lta Sigma Theta Sorority,14 Incorporated, Eta Chapter in Spring 2024; and15 H. R. 447 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3194 WHEREAS, her leadership and poise have earned her numerous prestigious titles, including16 serving as the 87th Miss Fort Valley State University and being crowned the 39th Miss17 National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame; and18 WHEREAS, she previously served with distinction as the 2023-2024 Miss Junior on the Fort19 Valley State University Royal Court and as Miss Black for the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity,20 Incorporated, Gamma Zeta Chapter; and21 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this22 remarkable and distinguished student leader be appropriately honored.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24 the members of this body recognize and commend Nya Aaliyah Floy d for her exceptional25 achievements, leadership, and contributions to her community as well as extend the most26 sincere best wishes for continued success in all her future endeavors.27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Nya29 Aaliyah Floyd.30 H.
