25 LC 129 0175 Senate Resolution 304 By: Senators Merritt of the 9th, Islam Parkes of the 7th, Anderson of the 43rd, Mangham of the 55th, Still of the 48th and others A RESOLUTION Congratulating the Brookwood High School boys swim and dive team for winning the 20251 GHSA Class 6A State Swimming and Diving Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Brookwood High School boys swim and dive team has established and3 maintained a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics;4 and5 WHEREAS, excellent performance, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made6 this team a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, a nd as a fitting finale to its7 remarkable 2025 campaign, the team captured its eighth state ch ampionship with a8 commanding 409-293 lead over its closest competitor, Walton; and9 WHEREAS, the team was led by Baylor Stanton, who earned individ ual state titles in the10 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard backstroke as well as c ompeted on the winning11 200-yard medley relay team alongside Ean Silvers, Collin Severtson, and Wyatt Hinson; and12 WHEREAS, Michael Stanton secured victory in the 500-yard freest yle and joined Thien13 Nguyen, Noah Silvers, and Wyatt Hinson to claim the state title in the 200-yard freestyle14 relay; and15 S. R. 304 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0175 WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding16 athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit demonstrated by each17 member; and18 WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by19 performing with courage and precision over months of training a nd competition, it is20 abundantly proper to call them champions.21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body22 congratulate the Brookwood High School boys swim and dive team for winning the 202523 GHSA Class 6A State Swimming and Diving Championship and extend best wishes for their24 continued success.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed26 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Brookwood27 High School boys swim and dive team.28 S.
