25 LC 112 3173 House Resolution 436 By: Representatives Schofield of the 63rd, Burnough of the 77th, Cannon of the 58th, Scott of the 76th, and Davis of the 87th A RESOLUTION Commending the invaluable contributions of school bus drivers a nd school food service1 workers and recognizing February 28, 2025, as Honoring Heroes D ay; and for other2 purposes.3 WHEREAS, Honoring Heroes Day will be observed on February 28, 2025, at the Georgia4 State Capitol, bringing together community members and legislators to honor the essential5 work of school bus drivers and school food service workers; and6 WHEREAS, school bus drivers play a vital role in ensuring the s afety and well-being of7 Georgia's students, providing secure and reliable transportatio n t h a t f o s t e r s a s e n s e o f8 stability, care, and trust; and9 WHEREAS, school food service workers are dedicated to nourishing students with healthy,10 balanced meals that are essential for academic success, physica l health, and overall11 well-being; and12 WHEREAS, both school bus drivers and school food service worker s demonstrate daily13 commitment, hard work, and compassion, often going beyond their official duties to14 positively impact students' lives; and15 H. R. 436 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3173 WHEREAS, it is fitting and prope r that the outstanding efforts and dedication of these16 often-unsung heroes be recognized and celebrated for the essent ial roles they play in17 Georgia's educational system and communities.18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that19 the members of this body commend Georgia's school bus drivers a nd school food service20 workers for their invaluable contributions and recognize Februa ry 28, 2025, as Honoring21 Heroes Day.22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized23 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the24 sponsors of Honoring Heroes Day and to Georgia's school bus dri vers and school food25 service workers.26 H.
