25 LC 52 0814 House Resolution 448 By: Representative Jones of the 60th A RESOLUTION Recognizing Women's Golf Week in the State of Georgia; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, the number of women playing and enjoying golf in Georgia is increasing at a2 rapid pace; and3 WHEREAS, the popularity of golf among Georgia women is at an al l-time high and still4 climbing; and5 WHEREAS, according to the National Golf Foundation, 23 percent of all golfers are women;6 and7 WHEREAS, the first week of April shall forever be known annually in the State of Georgia8 as Women's Golf Week.9 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ENACTED BY THE GENERAL10 ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA that the members of this body:11 (1) Designate the first week of April of each year as Women's Golf Week in the State of12 Georgia; and13 H. R. 448 - 1 - 25 LC 52 0814 (2) Respectfully request the Governor to issue annually a proclamation recognizing the14 first week of April in the State of Georgia as Women's Golf Wee k and call upon the15 people in the State of Georgia to observe the week with appropr iate programs and16 activities.17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized18 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to19 Governor Brian Kemp and the public and press.20 H.
