25 LC 112 3216 Senate Resolution 321 By: Senators Anderson of the 43rd, Davenport of the 17th, Sims of the 12th, Jones II of the 22nd, Wicks of the 34th and others A RESOLUTION Commending Habitat for Humanity Georgia and its Georgia affiliates and recognizing March1 5, 2025, as Habitat for Humanity Georgia Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Habitat for Humanity Georgia and its Georgia affiliate s have been steadfast3 advocates for affordable housing and community development, tirelessly working to provide4 safe and decent housing for families in need; and5 WHEREAS, Habitat for Humanity Georgia and its Georgia affiliate s' efforts have6 significantly contributed to the well-being and stability of countless communities across the7 state; and8 WHEREAS, on March 5, 2025, Habitat for Humanity Georgia and its Georgia affiliates will9 undertake a significant advocacy initiative by framing a house on the Georgia State Capitol10 grounds, symbolizing the importance of affordable housing and t he need for continued11 support and legislative action; and12 WHEREAS, this event will bring together volunteers, community leaders, and legislators to13 raise awareness and demonstrate the collective commitment to addressing housing challenges14 in Georgia; and15 S. R. 321 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3216 WHEREAS, the framing of this house on the state capitol grounds serves as a powerful16 reminder of the impact that collaborative efforts can have in c reating positive change and17 fostering stronger, more resilient communities.18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body19 commend Habitat for Humanity Georgia and its Georgia affiliates for their unwavering20 dedication to affordable housing and community advocacy as well as recognize March 5,21 2025, as Habitat for Humanity Georgia Day at the state capitol.22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed23 to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the24 press.25 S.
