25 LC 129 0247 House Resolution 456 By: Representatives Berry of the 56th, Miller of the 62nd, Romman of the 97th, and Bell of the 75th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Davante Jennings; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Davante Jennings has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours2 of his time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of his c ommunity and state, as3 evidenced dramatically by his superlative service as President of the Young Democrats of4 Georgia (YDG); and5 WHEREAS, with a passion for empowering young people and advancing progressive causes,6 Davante is known for his work in creating clear policy agendas for young people, building7 an alumni network within the organization, and securing internships and paid opportunities8 for young Democrats; and9 WHEREAS, originally from Huntsville, Alabama, his leadership and advocacy have played10 a pivotal role in revitalizing the Young Democrats of Georgia Black Caucus, making it the11 largest and most active YDG caucus; and12 WHEREAS, his commitment to community upliftment is evident in his fundraising efforts13 for HBCUs and Greek organizations through the Rising Sun Founda tion as well as his14 H. R. 456 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0247 instrumental role in helping elect Donya Sartor, the first Black female mayor of Jonesboro,15 Georgia; and16 WHEREAS, Davante's mission is to offer young people opportuniti es to thrive and lead17 positive lives, using his platform to be a voice for those who need it the most; and 18 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this19 remarkable and distinguished leader be appropriately recognized.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21 the members of this body recognize and commend Davante Jennings for his exemplary22 leadership and political advocacy in the State of Georgia as well as extend best wishes for23 continued success.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to26 Davante Jennings.27 H.
