A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Sergeant Major (Ret.) Karen Beamon; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, Sergeant Major (Ret.) Karen Beamon honorably served in the United States2
Army Reserve (USAR) for 26 years, demonstrating unwavering dedication in key roles such3
as Chief of the AGR Boards Branch, Instructor at the USAR Reten tion School, and4
Command Retention Non-commissioned Officer for the 102nd USAR Command; and5
WHEREAS, she has further served as Chief of the Nonresident Sergeants Major Course at6
the USASMA, USAR Senior Enlisted Liaison for the Eighth United States Army in Korea,7
and USAR Liaison, contributing to the professional development of enlisted personnel; and8
WHEREAS, following her retirement, she continued her service as an Instructional Systems9
Specialist with the Directorate of Training and Development at USASMA for 13 years,10
overseeing the development of training materials for enlisted l eaders and key military11
education programs; and12
WHEREAS, her outstanding service has been recognized with numer ous accolades,13
including the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement14
Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and more; and15

WHEREAS, Sergeant Major (Ret.) Karen Beamon remains actively en gaged in her16
community as a 50-year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, In corporated; a charter17
member of the El Paso Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc orporated; and an active18
member of the El Paso Sergeants Major Association; and19
WHEREAS, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from Columbia College20
and a Master of Education from Sul Ross State University, and h er extensive military21
education includes the United States Army Sergeants Major Acade my, Class 33, and22
numerous specialized training courses; and23
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this24
distinguished individual be appropriately recognized.25
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body26
recognize and commend Sergeant Major (Ret.) Karen Beamon for her exceptional military27
career and her efficient, effective, and dedicated service to her nation as well as extend best28
wishes for future health and happiness.29
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed30
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Sergeant Major31
(Ret.) Karen Beamon.32
