25 LC 112 3225 House Resolution 478 By: Representatives Carson of the 46th and Cooper of the 45th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Reverend Art Wilder upon the occasion of his retirement; and1 for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Reverend Art Wilder has long demonstrated an unwaverin g commitment to3 teaching the Gospel, witnessing Christ through word and deed, and addressing the physical,4 psychological, intellectual, and spiritual needs of others; and5 WHEREAS, he has devoted four decades to answering God's call, serving in ministry with6 faithfulness and dedication, including 38 years as the minister over pastoral care at Johnson7 Ferry Baptist Church; and8 WHEREAS, throughout his tenure at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, Reverend Wilder served9 in numerous capacities, including as pastor over discipleship, missions, singles, and senior10 adults; and11 WHEREAS, his background in engineering helped him develop effective systems and equip12 others to provide compassionate spiritual care, ensuring that the church remained personally13 connected with its members, especially during times of illness, crisis, and loss; and14 H. R. 478 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3225 WHEREAS, Reverend Wilder's wisdom and kindness have been a sour ce of comfort and15 guidance for countless individuals over the years, offering strength, encouragement, and care16 to those in need; and17 WHEREAS, he has touched the lives of many through his steadfast leadership, his ability to18 uplift and inspire others in thei r faith, and his unwavering co mmitment to the ministry of19 Christ; and20 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper to recognize the outstanding accomplishments21 of this devoted and pious man as he retires from full-time ministry, leaving a lasting legacy22 of faith, service, and love.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24 the members of this body recognize and commend Reverend Art Wil der upon the grand25 occasion of his retirement, express gratitude for his 40 years of ministry, and extend best26 wishes for future health and happiness.27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to29 Reverend Art Wilder.30 H.
