25 LC 112 3234 House Resolution 464 By: Representatives Cannon of the 58th, Burnough of the 77th, Bennett of the 94th, Au of the 50th, and Adesanya of the 43rd A RESOLUTION Honoring the life of Khari Oramae Burns and recognizing March 8 , 2025, as Infant1 Emergency Awareness Day; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Khari Oramae Burns was born on November 30, 2023, in Atlanta, Georgia, at3 Northside Hospital, bringing immeasurable joy to her family as a cherished daughter,4 beloved sister, and radiant presence in the lives of all who knew her; and5 WHEREAS, she was the only daughter of Erik Nickolas Burns Sr. a nd Brittany Nicole6 Burns, whose unwavering love and care created a world filled with joy and laughter, as well7 as the treasured little sister of Erik Nickolas Burns Jr., whose songs and presence brought her8 endless comfort and delight; and9 WHEREAS, her days were filled with love and simple joys, as she found great happiness in10 watching her big brother play, splashing in warm baths, and sharing moments of music and11 dance with her parents, always smiling and reaching out to be held; and12 W H E R E A S , w i t h a s w e e t a n d g e n t l e s p i r i t , K h a r i O r a m a e B u r n s w a s known for her13 comforting presence, bringing a sense of warmth and innocence to all who held her; and14 H. R. 464 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3234 WHEREAS, her bright spirit extended beyond her home as she was ever-present with her15 parents at community coat drives and hearings, a testament to the impact she had even in her16 earliest days; and17 WHEREAS, Khari Oramae Burns departed this life suddenly on Marc h 8, 2024, leaving18 behind a legacy of warmth, love, and happiness that continues to shine in the hearts of those19 who were blessed to know her; and20 WHEREAS, though she left this world too soon, her memory lives on through her devoted21 parents, Erik Sr. and Brittany; her loving brother, Erik Jr.; her maternal grandmother, Pamela22 Jones; her paternal grandparents, Doris Burns and Billy Burns; her uncle, Eugene Burns; and23 a host of cherished cousins, aunts, uncles, family members, and friends.24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that25 the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Khari Oramae Burns and26 express their deepest and most sincere regret at her passing.27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the members of this body recognize March 8, 2025, as28 Infant Emergency Awareness Day.29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized30 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the31 family of Khari Oramae Burns.32 H.
