25 LC 112 3230 House Resolution 470 By: Representatives Schofield of the 63rd, Holly of the 116th, Scott of the 76th, Davis of the 87th, Okoye of the 102nd, and others A RESOLUTION Commending Olori Atuwatse III; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Olori Atuwatse III, Queen Consort of the Warri Kingdom , has redefined the2 role of monarchy by using her platform to advance education, he althcare, economic3 opportunities, and cultural preservation, demonstrating an unwa vering commitment to the4 well-being of her people; and5 WHEREAS, she is a distinguished leader, lawyer, and philanthropist dedicated to fostering6 education, gender equity, and sustainable development across Africa in alignment with the7 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals; and8 WHEREAS, Olori Atuwatse III is the visionary founder of Elevate Africa, a transformative9 initiative that promotes leadership, collaboration, and economi c empowerment, inspiring10 young entrepreneurs and change-makers to re-imagine Africa's future; and11 WHEREAS, through the Royal Iwere Foundation, she has spearheade d impactful12 philanthropic programs such as the Teacher's Training Programme and the Captain Idahosa13 Wells Okunbo STEM and Innovation Lab, equipping educators and y outh with essential14 skills for progress; and15 H. R. 470 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3230 WHEREAS, a steadfast advocate for women's empowerment, she has further launched16 initiatives such as EstablishHer and Women Allying Women, providing mentorship, funding,17 and support to female entrepreneurs and leaders; and18 WHEREAS, her dedication to cultural preservation and environmental stewardship is evident19 through her reforestation campaigns, sustainable development efforts, and cultural festivals20 celebrating the heritage of the Warri Kingdom; and21 WHEREAS, Olori Atuwatse III has received numerous prestigious accolades, including the22 Freedom of the City of London, the President's Lifetime Achieve ment Award, and23 recognition among the 100 Most Influential African Women; and24 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this exemplary leader be appropriately25 honored during this special time.26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27 the members of this body recognize Olori Atuwatse III, Queen Co nsort of the Warri28 Kingdom, for her exceptional contributions to the development of Africa, the well-being of29 her citizens, and global leadership as well as extend best wishes for her continued success.30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Olori32 Atuwatse III.33 H.
