25 LC 112 3211 House Resolution 474 By: Representative Hagan of the 156th A RESOLUTION Congratulating the Toombs County High School football team for winning the 2024 GHSA1 Class A Division 1 State Football Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Toombs County High School football team has established and maintained3 a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and4 WHEREAS, this superlative team has completed another triumphant season of football5 competition by posting an outstanding record of 13 wins and only one loss; and6 WHEREAS, excellent play, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made this team7 a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, and as a fitting finale to its remarkable8 2024 campaign, the team captured its first ever state football championship; and9 WHEREAS, the team brought special recognition to its school and to Toombs County by10 winning the 2024 GHSA Class A Division 1 State Football Championship against Northeast11 High School with a final score of 38-18; and12 H. R. 474 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3211 WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding13 athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the14 team; and15 WHEREAS, this magnificent team performed with precision during the season and earned16 its well-deserved reputation for high standards of athletic achievement, the quality of its play,17 and the stiff competition it presented to its opponents.18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that19 the members of this body congratulate the Toombs County High Sc hool football team for20 winning the 2024 GHSA Class A Division 1 State Football Championship and extend best21 wishes for continued success.22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized23 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the24 Toombs County High School football team.25 H.
