25 LC 129 0243 House Resolution 469 By: Representatives Okoye of the 102nd, McClain of the 109th, Bennett of the 94th, Adeyina of the 110th, and Beckles of the 96th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending LaShonia Turner; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, LaShonia Turner, owner of Posh a Mireille Salon and co -owner of2 Scrum-did-dly-ump-tious, has long been recognized by her peers and fellow citizens as a3 dedicated leader and entrepreneur; and4 WHEREAS, after overcoming great adversity, LaShonia opened Posh a Mireille Salon in5 2016, in Dacula, Georgia, which grew in size, clientele, and in fluence over the next eight6 years and became Gwinnett's go-to hair care destination; and7 WHEREAS, the salon was named Best of Gwinnett from 2017 to 2021 , a testament to its8 commitment to providing exceptional customer service and its st rong presence in the9 community; and10 WHEREAS, LaShonia further demonstrated her exceptional entrepre neurial leadership in11 2023 with the opening of Scrum-did-dly-ump-tious, an upscale brunch restaurant located in12 the heart of downtown Lawrenceville; and13 H. R. 469 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0243 WHEREAS, despite her recent health challenges, LaShonia remains committed to her14 community through her love of God, philanthropy, and her passion for fostering unity among15 people; and16 WHEREAS, as the founder of Posh Cares, she has held Back to Sch ool drives to help17 provide students and teachers in need with school supplies, including Chromebooks; and 18 WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for19 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and20 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this21 remarkable and distinguished individual be appropriately honored.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23 the members of this body recognize and commend LaShonia Turner for her many exemplary24 career accomplishments as well as extend best wishes for future health, happiness, and25 success.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized27 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to28 LaShonia Turner.29 H.
