25 LC 52 0815 House Resolution 504 By: Representatives Ballard of the 147th, Dickey of the 134th, Barton of the 5th, DeLoach of the 167th, Crowe of the 118th, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing March 20, 2025, as Buc-ee's Day at the state capitol and celebrating Buc-ee's1 and its presence in Georgia; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Buc-ee's is a chain of travel centers known for its aw ard-winning clean3 restrooms and abundant fuel pumps including diesel exhaust fluid, ethanol free fuel, and EV4 charging stations; and5 WHEREAS, Buc-ee's offers a variety of merchandise, from clever and quirky, such as6 Buc-ee the Beaver inflatables with interchangeable party signs and Buc-ee's onesies for7 babies and adults, to conventional and sophisticated, such as c ast-iron skillets, specialty8 wood cutting boards, and gold and silver jewelry; and9 WHEREAS, Buc-ee's is especially known for its extensive assortment of drinks and food,10 including but not limited to Beaver Nuggets, in-house made fudge, a wall covered end-to-end11 with a variety of different flavored beef jerkies, and "fresh b risket on the board" that is12 smoked in house and made into deliciously warm ready-to-eat sandwiches; and13 H. R. 504 - 1 - 25 LC 52 0815 WHEREAS, Buc-ee's started in Texas and has expanded to eight ot her states, including14 Georgia, and has travel centers in Warner Robins and Calhoun, o ne scheduled to open in15 Brunswick in June of this year, and another planned for Monroe County; and16 WHEREAS, each location of Buc-ee's in this state brings jobs fo r the development and17 construction of the travel center; adds full-time, part-time, a nd seasonal jobs at the travel18 center; increases sales tax revenue from purchases of fuel, merchandise, food, and beverages19 at the travel center; and encourages investment in the area surrounding the travel center; and20 WHEREAS, Georgia travelers and travelers through Georgia deserve a safe, well-lit place21 to stop, shop, refuel, and rest, and they can happily say "Meet me at Buc-ee's!" 24 hours a22 day, 365 days a year; and23 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that Buc-ee's be recognized for coming to this24 state, stimulating the economy, and providing a cultural experience to remember and revisit.25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that26 the members of this body recognize March 20, 2025, as Buc-ee's Day at the state capitol and27 celebrate Buc-ee's for its presence in Georgia and extend best wishes for its continued28 success.29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized30 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to31 Buc-ee's, the public, and the press.32 H.
