25 LC 112 3295 House Resolution 523 By: Representatives Willis of the 55th and Hugley of the 141st A RESOLUTION Commending The Links, Incorporated and recognizing March 10, 2025, as the Georgia Links1 Day At The Capitol; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, The Links, Incorporated is one of the nation's oldest and largest volunteer3 service organizations, founded in 1946, and is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to4 enriching, sustaining, and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans5 and other people of African ancestry; and6 WHEREAS, The Links, Incorporated has a distinguished history of promoting the core7 values of friendship, integrity, honesty, service, commitment, family relationships, courage,8 respect for self and others, legacy, confidentiality, responsibility, and accountability, which9 continue to guide its efforts to empower communities across the country; and10 WHEREAS, the members of The Links, Incorporated are influential decision-makers and11 opinion leaders, including business and civic leaders, role mod els, mentors, activists, and12 volunteers dedicated to making a positive difference in their communities and the world; and13 H. R. 523 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3295 WHEREAS, The Links, Incorporated contributes more than one million documented hours14 of community service annually, thereby strengthening local communities and enhancing the15 well-being of the nation; and16 WHEREAS, The Links, Incorporated has a comprehensive and impact ful programmatic17 focus, which includes five key areas: Services to Youth, The Ar ts, National Trends and18 Services, International Trends and Services, and Health and Human Services, all of which19 are implemented through public information, education, economic development, and public20 policy campaigns.21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that22 the members of this body commend The Links, Incorporated for its unwavering commitment23 to service and leadership and recognize March 10, 2025, as Geor gia Links Day At The24 Capitol in honor of their outstanding contributions to society.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized26 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to The27 Links, Incorporated.28 H.
