25 LC 129 0271 House Resolution 533 By: Representatives Lim of the 98th, Santos of the 117th, Cannon of the 58th, Lupton of the 83rd, and Sanchez of the 42nd A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Araceli Barrientos; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Araceli Barrientos has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the2 vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare3 of the citizens of Georgia; and4 WHEREAS, Araceli helped form Familias Azules, a support group for families of children5 with autism; is a resource parent with Parent to Parent of Georgia, an organization that helps6 families understand and get resources about children and young adults with disabilities and7 childhood cancer; and is a health promoter with the Lifting Latinx Voices Initiative, where8 she has given talks to more than 100 women about breast and cervical cancer, as well as birth9 control and self-care; and10 WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,11 talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced12 dramatically by her superlative service with numerous organizations, including Friends of13 the Community, Bright Boy Foundation, and Lucky Shoals Community Association; and14 H. R. 533 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0271 WHEREAS, Araceli' s significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable patience15 and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state16 have earned her the respect and admiration of all who know her; and17 WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for18 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and19 WHEREAS, Araceli has served with honor and distinction, and her vision and unyielding20 commitment to providing care and education to her community hav e set the standard for21 public service; and22 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this23 remarkable and distinguished Georgian are appropriately recognized.24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that25 the members of this body recognize and commend Auricula Barrien tos for her efficient,26 effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and extend the most27 sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized29 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to30 Araceli Barrientos.31 H.
