A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life and memory of Larry Max Cox; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2
with the passing of Larry Max Cox on October 4, 2024; and3
WHEREAS, Larry Max Cox safeguarded his community as a Gwinnett County police officer4
in the 1970s and served as a guardian of this nation's freedom and liberty with the United5
States Army, valiantly and courageously protecting his fellow Americans; and6
WHEREAS, he was an active member of the Rotary Club of Madison County, the7
Cattlemen's Association of Madison County, the Chamber of Commerce, the T J and Friends8
Cancer Foundation, the Food Bank of Madison County, and Food to Kids, selflessly giving9
his time and talents to many causes and nonprofits; and10
WHEREAS, he was instrumental in implementing a scholarship prog ram for high school11
seniors in Madison County and was a generous contributor to the fund, ensuring greater12
educational opportunities for local students; and13

WHEREAS, he additionally served as a mentor to students at Ila Elementary School, making14
a profound difference in their lives by helping to improve their reading skills and fostering15
a love for learning; and16
WHEREAS, Larry Max Cox enjoyed a 27-year-long professional career with UPS, where17
he worked his way up from driver to vice president of telecommunications; and18
WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife, Linda, with whom he shared 5519
wonderful years, and the two were blessed with an outstanding s on, Jason, and three20
cherished grandchildren, Jared, Justin, and Kathryn; and21
WHEREAS, a man of deep love for the land, he found great joy in his farm and cattle, often22
spending his days on his tractor or caring for his livestock; and23
WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Larry Max Cox will long be remembered24
for his love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who had the great25
fortune of knowing him.26
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27
the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory o f Larry Max Cox and28
express their deepest and most sincere regret at his passing.29
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized30
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the31
family of Larry Max Cox.32
