25 LC 112 3313 House Resolution 529 By: Representative Carter of the 93rd A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Dr. Constance Levett Abbott; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Dr. Constance Levett Abbott has devoted her life to mi nistry, serving as a2 leader, teacher, and spiritual guide who works to transform the lives of others through faith3 and service; and4 WHEREAS, she was licensed to preach the Gospel in 1996 at First Agape Christian5 Fellowship Church, and she has since held numerous ministerial roles throughout her career,6 including serving under Pastor Keith D. Brooks at All Nations Life & Praise Church; and7 WHEREAS, her dedication to spiritual leadership led to her appo intment as Senior Pastor8 of Macedonia Baptist Church in Conyers, Georgia, on February 26 , 2022, where she9 continues to minister to her congregation and engage with the b roader Rockdale County10 community through impactful ministries; and11 WHEREAS, she has demonstrated a passion for discipleship by dev eloping a structured12 curriculum to guide new believers in their first six months of faith as well as a 10-course13 Ministerial Training Curriculum designed to equip individuals w ith the knowledge and14 confidence to share Biblical teachings; and15 H. R. 529 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3313 WHEREAS, in addition to her ministry, she has made significant contributions to the16 community through her service as a DMIN Program Advisory Committee member for South17 University and a P.E.A.R.L. Advisory Board member, advocating for the well-being of the18 senior population in Rockdale County; and19 WHEREAS, in November 2023, Dr. Abbott and Macedonia Baptist Church-Conyers were20 honored as Unsung Heroes by the National Community-Based Organi zation Network in21 collaboration with Morehouse School of Medicine, recognizing their efforts to address social,22 ethical, and health disparities in the community; and23 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this enduring example of God's message24 of peace and love be honored and congratulated for her innumerable good works rendered25 on behalf of persons in need.26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27 the members of this body recognize and commend Dr. Constance Le vett Abbott for her28 exceptional contributions to ministry, education, and community service as well as extend29 best wishes for many more years of successful fellowship.30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dr.32 Constance Levett Abbott.33 H.
