25 LC 129 0310 House Resolution 528 By: Representative Carter of the 93rd A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Reverend Shivern L. Jeter; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Reverend Shivern L. Jeter has long been recognized by the citizens of this state2 for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the3 welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and4 WHEREAS, Reverend Jeter is an Associate Minister at The Histori c Macedonia Baptist5 Church, in Conyers, Georgia; a Housing Support Coordinator for View Point Health; and 6 an outstanding community leader; and7 WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,8 talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced9 dramatically by her superlative service with Foster Care Friends, Inc.; and10 WHEREAS, Reverend Jeter is a faithful foster parent of 28 years, as well as the founder and11 executive director of Foster Care Friends, Inc., a nonprofit that supports the foster, adoption,12 kinship, and homeless community; and 13 H. R. 528 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0310 WHEREAS, on April 1, 2025 Foster Care Friends, Inc., will celebrate 11 years of exemplary14 service and dedication to children and families in need; and15 WHEREAS, Reverend Jeter 's significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable16 patience and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of17 this state have earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and associates; and18 WHEREAS, Reverend Jeter additionally serves her community as an Executive Board19 member for The Department of Family and Children Services, Advi sory Chaplain at20 Rockdale Piedmont Hospital, Sworn Court Appointed Specialty Adv ocate for children in21 Rockdale County, Assistant Chaplain at the Rockdale Sheriff's Department, and as a Council22 Board Member for Rockdale County Public Schools; and23 WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for24 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and25 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this26 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that28 the members of this body recognize and commend Reverend Shivern L. Jeter for her29 efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service t o the State of Georgia;30 congratulate her upon the grand occasion of the 11th anniversary of Foster Care Friends, Inc.;31 and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.32 H.
