25 LC 129 0285 Senate Resolution 355 By: Senators Esteves of the 35th, Orrock of the 36th, McLaurin of the 14th and Islam Parkes of the 7th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Latina Leads; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Latina Leads is an Atlanta based nonprofit that empowers Latina girls, ages 82 to 16, to become active leaders in their communities through pr ograms focused on3 leadership, self-esteem, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, values, and well-being; and 4 WHEREAS, founded by distinguished entrepreneur and journalist E li Dib Caiazzo and5 community leader and journalist Maria Alejandra Bastidas, Latin a Leads passionately6 empowers young girls to realize their full potential and become future leaders in their7 communities; and8 WHEREAS, Latina Leads' leadership, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and well-being9 initiatives are designed to celebrate the unique heritage of each participant, while fostering10 an inclusive environment and empowering girls to take pride in their identities; and11 WHEREAS, by inviting successful women from various cultural backgrounds to mentor and12 serve as role models, Latina Leads offers girls an opportunity to see themselves reflected in13 positions of leadership; and14 S. R. 355 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0285 WHEREAS, in the last year, this outstanding organization has served more than 250 Latina15 girls and their families, ensuring they have the knowledge and resources to advocate for their16 education and well-being; and17 WHEREAS, over the past three years, Latina Leads has positively impacted the lives of more18 than 400 girls through workshops, summer camps, and conferences; and19 WHEREAS, Latina Leads provides young girls the skills, knowledge, and opportunities to20 become confident, compassionate, and effective leaders in their communities and inspires,21 motivates, and elevates them through impactful content creation, mentorship, and leadership22 development; and23 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this inspirat ional organization is24 appropriately honored.25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body26 recognize and commend Latina Leads for its commitment to inspiring future generations of27 Latina girls and extend their since best wishes for continued growth and success.28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed29 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Latina Leads.30 S.
