25 LC 129 0305 House Resolution 573 By: Representatives Jones of the 143rd, Flournoy of the 74th, Griffin of the 149th, Buckner of the 137th, Reese of the 140th, and others A RESOLUTION Congratulating and commending Tina Thames for receiving the 2025 Yellow Rose Nikki T.1 Randall Servant Leader Award; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, in 1999, Representative Nikki T. Randall became the fi rst African American3 female elected to the General Assembly from middle Georgia, and over her 17 years of4 service as a legislator, she held numerous leadership positions, including chair of the Georgia5 Legislative Women's Caucus; and6 WHEREAS, every year during Women's History Month, the Georgia Legislative Women's7 Caucus recognizes outstanding women in Georgia who exemplify th e leadership and8 inspiration embodied by Representative Randall; and9 WHEREAS, Tina Thames is a woman of unassuming greatness whose h umble acts of10 kindness and generosity have uplifted her entire community; and11 WHEREAS, as a pastors daughter, Tina was immersed in the act of giving from a young age,12 participating in community efforts to collect donations from lo cal businesses and13 transforming her church's fellowship hall into a heaven of hope; and14 H. R. 573 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0305 WHEREAS, as a former Human Resources Director in a small rural county, Tina embodies15 true leadership and passion to advocate for those around her; and16 WHEREAS, whether through advocacy, mentorship, or community org anizing, Tina is17 committed to ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to be heard and supported.18 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this19 extraordinary servant leader be appropriately recognized.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21 the members of this body congratulate and commend Tina Thames f or receiving the 202522 Yellow Rose Nikki T. Randall Servant Leader Award and extend be st wishes for her23 continued success.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Tina26 Thames.27 H.
