25 LC 112 3286 House Resolution 580 By: Representatives Evans of the 57th, Frye of the 122nd, Draper of the 90th, and Roberts of the 52nd A RESOLUTION Commending Margaret "Marjy" Stagmeier; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Margaret "Marjy" Stagmeier has long been recognized by her peers as a2 community leader and champion of equitable housing who has dedicated innumerable hours3 of her time and energy toward improving the lives of low-income families; and4 WHEREAS, Marjy is a founding partner of TriStar, a nationally r ecognized real estate5 investment firm based in Atlanta, where she led efforts to deve lop a sustainable housing6 model that revitalizes marginalized apartment communities near underperforming elementary7 schools; and8 WHEREAS, this housing model has positively impacted over 10,000 families by creating9 stable, affordable communities and fostering long-term neighborhood investment, thereby10 helping to break cycles of poverty and build generational wealt h through pathways to11 home-ownership; and12 WHEREAS, as additional testament to her dedication to the community, Marjy further serves13 as the chair and founder of the nonprofit Star-C as well as the Advisory Board co-chair of14 HouseATL; and15 H. R. 580 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3286 WHEREAS, Marjy is also an accomplished author, having written Real Estate Asset16 Management: Executive Strategies for Profit Making and Blighted, a compelling narrative17 on the two-year redevelopment of the Summerdale apartment community; and18 WHEREAS, her unwavering dedication to building community trust and improving lives19 extends beyond housing as she continues to lead with vision and integrity in her mission to20 create safe, healthy, and equitable living environments for underserved populations; and21 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkab le individual be22 appropriately honored during this special time.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24 the members of this body commend Margaret "Marjy" Stagmeier for her exceptional25 contributions to affordable housing, equitable community develo pment, and educational26 support for families as well as extend best wishes for continued success.27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to29 Margaret "Marjy" Stagmeier.30 H.
