25 LC 129 0253 House Resolution 576 By: Representatives Bazemore of the 69th, Buckner of the 137th, Bennett of the 94th, Taylor of the 92nd, and Alexander of the 66th A RESOLUTION Congratulating and commending Janice Arnwine Bryant for receiving the 2025 Yellow Rose1 Nikki T. Randall Servant Leader Award; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, in 1999, Representative Nikki T. Randall became the fi rst African American3 female elected to the General Assembly from middle Georgia, and over her 17 years of4 service as a legislator, she held numerous leadership positions, including chair of the Georgia5 Legislative Women's Caucus; and6 WHEREAS, every year during Women's History Month, the Georgia Legislative Women's7 Caucus recognizes outstanding women in Georgia who exemplify th e leadership and8 inspiration embodied by Representative Randall; and9 WHEREAS, Janice Arnwine Bryant is a woman of unassuming greatness whose humble acts10 of kindness and generosity have uplifted the entire country; and11 WHEREAS, a retired middle and highschool science teacher, Janice has held the position of12 secretary for the Fayette County NAACP for nearly six years, se rved as co-chair of the13 Fayette County Community Remembrance Coalition, and was part of the team of African14 American Historical and Genealogy Society Atlanta Metro Chapter researchers who worked15 H. R. 576 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0253 with the National Center for Civil and Human Rights Truth and Transformation Initiative on16 the 1906 Atlanta Race Massacre; and17 WHEREAS, Janice helped to organize soil ceremonies for two of t he seven people18 recognized by the Equal Justice Initiative in Montgomery, Alabama—her dedication of time19 and skills resulted in an interactive soil display at the Fayette County Library; and 20 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this21 extraordinary servant leader be appropriately recognized.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23 the members of this body congratulate and commend Janice Arnwine Bryant for receiving24 the 2025 Yellow Rose Nikki T. Randall Servant Leader Award and extend best wishes for25 her continued success.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized27 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Janice28 Arnwine Bryant.29 H.
