25 LC 112 3276 House Resolution 610 By: Representatives Barton of the 5 th, Gaines of the 120 th, Ridley of the 6 th, Hagan of the 156th, Anderson of the 10th, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Delane Roberts on the occasion of he r retirement; and for1 other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Delane Roberts has long been recognized by the citizen s and leaders of this3 state for the vital role she has played in state and local gove rnment and her deep personal4 commitment to the State of Georgia; and5 WHEREAS, for the past 32 years, she has diligently and conscien tiously devoted6 innumerable hours of her time, talents, and energy toward the b etterment of the daily7 operations of the Georgia General Assembly, as evidenced by her service to the Georgia8 House of Representatives; and9 WHEREAS, she began her career with the Georgia House of Representatives on January 1,10 1993, and has served numerous members over the years, including 12 years as the Defense11 & Veterans Affairs Committee Assistant; and12 WHEREAS, she excelled in each of these roles, demonstrating a k een ability to identify13 opportunities for her elected officials, maintaining an extensive network of contacts across14 state agencies and departments, and always upholding a cheerful demeanor; and15 H. R. 610 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3276 WHEREAS, this stellar woman exemplifies the courage, determinat ion, leadership, and16 character necessary to attain excellence in government service, and her contributions have17 been recognized and appreciated by all who work under the Gold Dome; and18 WHEREAS, a lifelong member of Bremen Church of Christ, she has remained actively19 involved in her faith community, where her father, Jessie Rober ts, served as an elder for20 many years, and she was a devoted caregiver to her mother, Sue Bearden Roberts, and her21 aunt, Eloise Bearden Bell, until their passing; and22 WHEREAS, she has announced her retirement, effective January 1, 2025, and is to be23 honored for her decades of efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the24 citizens of this state.25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that26 the members of this body recognize and commend Delane Roberts for her decades of service27 to this state; congratulate her upon the grand occasion of her retirement; and extend the most28 sincere best wishes for continued good health and happiness.29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized30 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to31 Delane Roberts.32 H.
