25 LC 129 0332 House Resolution 627 By: Representatives Herring of the 145th, Jones of the 143rd, Paris of the 142nd, Griffin of the 149th, and Reese of the 140th A RESOLUTION Commending Sarah Mallett for being named Bibb County's Teacher of the Year for 2024 and1 recognizing her exceptional contributions to education and the community; and for other2 purposes.3 WHEREAS, Sarah Mallett, an Audio, Video, Technology, and Film t eacher at Howard4 Middle School, has been honored as Bibb County's Teacher of the Year for 2024, reflecting5 her dedication to excellence in teaching and her positive impact on students; and6 WHEREAS, Ms. Mallett, a third-generation educator, has demonstr ated outstanding7 leadership and innovation in the classroom, fostering an engaging and supportive learning8 environment that encourages student growth and achievement; and9 WHEREAS, her classes are responsible for delivering school announcements, producing a10 weekly newsletter, and creating video projects, providing students with valuable hands-on11 experience in media production; and12 WHEREAS, Ms. Mallett's personal motto, "every student that comes in knows that no matter13 who you are, or where you come from, you have a seat at my tabl e," exemplifies her14 commitment to inclusivity and ensuring all students feel valued and supported; and15 H. R. 627 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0332 WHEREAS, her dedication extends beyond the classroom, as she ac tively participates in16 extracurricular activities and co mmunity initiatives , further e nriching the educational17 experience for her students and strengthening community ties; and18 WHEREAS, Ms. Mallett's passion for education and unwavering commitment to her students19 serve as an inspiration to her colleagues, students, and the broader community.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21 the members of this body recognize and commend Sarah Mallett, Bibb County's Teacher of22 the Year for 2024, for her exemplary service as an educator and her significant contributions23 to the academic and personal development of her students.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Sarah26 Mallett.27 H.
