25 LC 129 0320 House Resolution 634 By: Representatives Cannon of the 58th, Bennett of the 94th, Neal of the 79th, McQueen of the 61st, and Willis of the 55th A RESOLUTION Commending Janice Colbert and recognizing March 20, 2025, as Tr ailBlazing Women in1 Georgia Day; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, TrailBlazing Women in Georgia Day acknowledges the philanthropic, social,3 and cultural contributions of women in the state; and4 WHEREAS, Janice Colbert has long been recognized for the vital role that she has played5 in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare o f the citizens of Georgia;6 and7 WHEREAS, Janice is the proud owner of Brown Sugar Desserts and the SUGAR Dessert8 Bar in Conyers, Georgia; and9 WHEREAS, beyond her bakeries, Janice operates a dessert van, catering to special events10 such as weddings, birthdays, and corporate gatherings; and11 WHEREAS, she donates her delicious desserts and time to many organizations in the Atlanta12 Metro area and beyond, including schools, police departments, a nd other community13 orgnizations; and14 H. R. 634 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0320 WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for15 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and16 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstandi ng contributions of this17 individual be appropriately honored.18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that19 the members of this body commend Janice Colbert for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and20 dedicated public service to the State of Georgia; recognize March, 20, 2025, as TrailBlazing21 Women in Georgia Day; and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and22 happiness.23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized24 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Janice25 Colbert.26 H.
