25 LC 112 3402 House Resolution 613 By: Representatives Scott of the 76th, Davis of the 87th, and Schofield of the 63rd A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Audrey Lee Clinton Fisher; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2 with the passing of Audrey Lee Clinton Fisher on October 28, 2024; and3 WHEREAS, Audrey Lee Clinton Fisher was born on December 6, 1936 , in Jacksonville,4 Florida, a beloved daughter of Joseph and Ophelia Clinton; and5 WHEREAS, an accomplished educator and leader, Audrey Lee Clinton Fisher served as a6 senior-level administrator for Boston Public Schools, a school psychologist and7 post-secondary counselor in Michigan, a professor, a drama coac h, a teacher, and the8 Director of the Southern Region Education Legal Project of the NAACP; and9 WHEREAS, she further served her community as a proud member of the Alpha Kappa10 Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, sharing this legacy with her daug hter, granddaughter, and11 oldest sister; and12 H. R. 613 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3402 WHEREAS, a woman of deep and abiding faith, she was an active member of St. Paul AME13 Church from a young age, participating in Sunday school, the Allen Christian League, the14 Youth Choir, and Vacation Bible School; and15 WHEREAS, she was blessed with one remarkable daughter, Rhonda, two wonderful16 grandchildren, Devin and Jasmyn, and five beloved great-grandch ildren, Kamdyn, Kyler,17 Jordan, Kinsley, and Kamyrah; and18 WHEREAS, she gave inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern19 for her fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and unders tanding she demonstrated to20 her family and friends were admired by others; and21 WHEREAS, she was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation22 for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example she made of her life,23 she made this world a better place in which to live; and24 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous woman, Audrey Lee Clinton Fisher will long be25 remembered for her love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who26 had the great fortune of knowing her.27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that28 the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Audrey Lee Clinton Fisher29 and express their deepest and most sincere regret at her passing.30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the32 family of Audrey Lee Clinton Fisher.33 H.
