25 LC 112 3366 House Resolution 633 By: Representatives Chastain of the 7th and Wade of the 9th A RESOLUTION Congratulating the Fannin County Lady Rebels basketball team for winning the 2025 GHSA1 Class A Division I State Basketball Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Fannin County Lady Rebels basketball team has established and maintained3 a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and4 WHEREAS, the team brought sp ecial recognition to its school and to Fannin County by5 winning the 2025 GHSA Class A Division I State Basketball Champ ionship against the6 Banks County Lady Leopards with a final score of 51-42; and7 WHEREAS, the Lady Rebels secured their victory through exceptio nal execution and8 disciplined control, overcoming a strong defensive press from their opponents while turning9 key stops into scoring opportunities; and10 WHEREAS, standout performances included crucial contributions f rom Maggie Ledford,11 Izzie Jabaley, and Reese Lewis, whose early fourth-quarter offensive surge helped propel the12 Lady Rebels to victory, as well as tremendous defensive efforts from Avi Ethington, Callie13 Ensley, Emma Buchanan, Emma Holloway, and Albany Cole, which limited Banks County's14 top scorers well below their season average; and15 H. R. 633 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3366 WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding16 athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit demonstrated by each17 team member as well as the astute direction of Head Coach Ryan Chastain; and18 WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by19 performing with courage and precision over months of training a nd competition, it is20 abundantly proper to call them champions.21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that22 the members of this body congratulate the Fannin County Lady Rebels basketball team for23 winning the 2025 GHSA Class A Division I State Basketball Championship and extend best24 wishes for their continued success.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized26 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the27 Fannin County Lady Rebels basketball team.28 H.
