25 LC 129 0354 House Resolution 682 By: Representatives Beckles of the 96th, Adeyina of the 110th, McClain of the 109th, Okoye of the 102nd, Lim of the 98th, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, for over thirty-six years, Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries (NCM) has been2 serving southwestern Gwinnett County by providing food, clothin g, short term financial3 assistance, and job placement services to families in need; and4 WHEREAS, NCM was formed as a collaboration of serval churches, individuals, and social5 and civic organizations to help serve neighbors in crisis, transforming lives through the love6 of Christ; and7 WHEREAS, NCM has continued to grow as the needs in the area inc rease, adding new8 ministries focusing on personal empowerment, including a job mi nistry, financial9 management classes, children's programs, case management, and spiritual programs; and10 WHEREAS, in the past five years, NCM has responded to the COVID-19 crisis, overhauled11 its technology and website, hired its first part-time controller, partnered with numerous new12 organizations, and completed serval renovation, construction, and expansion projects; and13 H. R. 682 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0354 WHEREAS, this outstanding organization has had a tremendous impact on its community14 through its spirit of service and desire to improve the quality of life in Gwinnett, Georgia;15 and16 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries17 be appropriately honored.18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that19 the members of this body recognize and commend Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries for20 its many valuable contributions on behalf of the citizens of Georgia and extend best wishes21 for the future.22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized23 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to24 Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries.25 H.
