25 LC 112 3456 House Resolution 707 By: Representative Gullett of the 19th A RESOLUTION Commending Paulding County's social workers during National Social Worker Month; and1 for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Social Work is a profession truly dedicated to helping people; and3 WHEREAS, Social Workers are dedicated to enhancing well-being a nd helping meet the4 basic needs of all people, especially the most vulnerable in our society; and5 WHEREAS, Social Workers follow a Code of Ethics that calls on t hem to fight social6 injustice and respect the dignity and worth of all people; and7 WHEREAS, Social Workers meet people where they are and help people and communities8 reach their full potential; and9 WHEREAS, Social Workers positively touch the lives of millions of Americans each day10 and in a variety of places, including schools, hospitals, the military, child welfare agencies,11 community centers, and in local, state, and federal government; and12 H. R. 707 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3456 WHEREAS, Social Workers have helped people cope with death and grief and communities13 recover from natural disasters, including hurricanes, drought, and flooding; and14 WHEREAS, Social Workers are the largest group of mental healthc are providers in the15 United States, working daily to help thousands of Americans overcome mental illness.16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that17 the members of this body commend Paulding County's social worke rs during this year's18 National Social Worker Month for their outstanding service on b ehalf of those in need as19 well as extend best wishes for continued success.20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized21 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the22 public and the press.23 H.
