A RESOLUTION
Congratulating the Georgia Southern University Clay Target Team for winning the 2024 and1
2025 ACUI/SCTP Collegiate Clay Target Championships; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, the Georgia Southern University Clay Target Team claimed its third national3
title last year at the ACUI/SCTP Collegiate Clay Target Champio nship in Division II,4
earning both the Classic All-American (CAA) and All-Division American Skeet champion5
titles in a historic first for Georgia Southern University; and6
WHEREAS, competing at the National Shooting Complex in San Antonio, Texas, the team7
shot a record-breaking 497 out of 500 targets, placing at the top among 106 collegiate teams8
and nearly 1,200 student-athletes from 34 states; and9
WHEREAS, senior Tate Skipper shot a perfect 100 out of 100 in A merican Skeet, later10
winning a head-to-head shoot-off to become the High Overall Skeet Champion, while fellow11
senior Andrew Cohen also shot a perfect 100 in skeet and earned High Overall Champion12
for the CAA event with a total score of 291 out of 300; and13
WHEREAS, additional top performers included sophomore Cheyenne Anderson, who placed14
second in High Overall Lady for Division II and third in sporti ng clays; freshman Blake15

Reed, who recorded Georgia Southern's first perfect 100 in Amer ican Trap at the16
championship and finished third in High Overall; and junior Landon DeLoach, who placed17
second in sporting clays; and18
WHEREAS, the Georgia Southern Clay Target Team continued its legacy of dominance this19
year by capturing its fourth High Overall Division National Cha mpionship at the 202520
ACUI/SCTP Collegiate Clay Target Championship; and21
WHEREAS, these back-to-back victories are a testament to the team's extraordinary focus,22
preparation, and skill under the leadership of Head Coach and G eorgia Southern alumnus23
Marty Fischer; and24
WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by25
performing with courage and precision over months of training a nd competition, it is26
abundantly proper to call them champions.27
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that28
the members of this body congratulate the Georgia Southern University Clay Target Team29
for winning the 2024 and 2025 ACUI/SCTP Collegiate Clay Target Championships and30
extend best wishes for their continued success.31
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized32
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the33
Georgia Southern University Clay Target Team.34
