25 LC 112 3468 Senate Resolution 457 By: Senator Harbison of the 15th A RESOLUTION Recognizing June 15-21, 2025, as Greg Street Week in honor of DJ Greg Street's 30th radio1 anniversary at WVEE-V103 FM; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, DJ Greg Street has been a leading figure in Georgia's radio industry for 303 years, captivating audiences with his distinctive style, engaging personality, and unwavering4 commitment to the community; and5 WHEREAS, since joining WVEE-V103 FM, he has played a pivotal role in shaping Atlanta's6 music scene, supporting and contributing to the careers of majo r artists such as OutKast,7 Usher, T.I., Lil Jon, Master P, Lil Wayne, Cyhi Da Prynce, Big Sean, B.o.B., Trick Daddy,8 Nicki Minaj, Ice Cube, Meek Mill, UGK, Rick Ross, and many more; and9 WHEREAS, he is best known by his signature and iconic phrase, "It's 6 o'clock, it's 6 o'clock,10 time for Greg Street to Rock," which has become nationally renowned and recognized; and11 WHEREAS, in addition to his radio presence, DJ Greg Street is d edicated to supporting12 education through his "We Need to Read" Foundation, which donates $10,000 annually in13 scholarships, cash, and prizes to students in underserved areas; and14 S. R. 457 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3468 WHEREAS, his remarkable contributions to the radio industry and the community have15 earned him numerous accolades, including induction into the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame16 in 2019 and the National Black Radio Hall of Fame in 2020; and17 WHEREAS, he has further received the One Music Fest Honors Awar d in 2023 for his18 contributions to entertainment, community, and culture; recognition as DJ of the South by19 the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences Grammy Awar ds in 2023; and20 Billboard's Major Market Air Personality of the Year award in 2000; and21 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkab le individual be22 appropriately honored during this special time.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body24 recognize June 15-21, 2025, as Greg Street Week in honor of DJ Greg Street's 30th radio25 anniversary at WVEE-V103 FM and extend best wishes for his continued success.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed27 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to DJ Greg Street.28 S.
