25 LC 112 3488 Senate Resolution 472 By: Senators Rahman of the 5th, Kemp of the 38th, Mallow of the 2nd, Wicks of the 34th, Harbison of the 15th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending the Aligarh Alumni Association of Atlanta (AAAA) and its1 contributions to education, community service, and Atlanta's la rgest Muslim community2 gathering on Eid-ul-Fitr; and for other purposes.3 WHEREAS, the Aligarh Alumni Association of Atlanta (AAAA) is a nonprofit organization4 dedicated to promoting education, social welfare, cultural heri tage, and interfaith5 understanding, inspired by the vision of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan an d Aligarh Muslim6 University (AMU), Aligarh, India; and7 WHEREAS, the AAAA has made significant contributions to educational advancement by8 providing scholarships, mentorship, and career counseling for underprivileged and deserving9 students, thereby equipping youth with knowledge and opportunities for a better future; and10 WHEREAS, the AAAA actively promotes literary and cultural initi atives, including the11 preservation and promotion of the Urdu language, literary events, and educational and social12 seminars, enriching the intellectual and cultural landscape of the community; and13 S. R. 472 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3488 WHEREAS, the AAAA has consistently engaged in social welfare and humanitarian efforts,14 including support for charity organizations, food distribution programs, and disaster relief15 initiatives, improving the quality of life for many individuals and families in need; and16 WHEREAS, the AAAA plays an instrumental role in organizing and supporting Atlanta's17 largest Muslim community gathering on Eid-ul-Fitr, an event tha t fosters interfaith18 understanding, cultural unity, and social cohesion by bringing together hundreds of19 community members in the spirit of peace and togetherness; and20 WHEREAS, this annual Eid-ul-Fitr celebration serves as a platform for cultural exchange,21 philanthropy, and strengthening bonds among diverse communities, furthering the values of22 inclusivity, mutual respect, and harmony; and23 WHEREAS, the AAAA's commitment to education, cultural preservation, and social service24 has left a lasting impact on the local, national, and international levels, making it a beacon25 of community service and empowerment.26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body27 recognize and commend the Aligarh Alumni Association of Atlanta (AAAA) for its28 outstanding contributions to education, community service, and cultural heritage as well as29 acknowledge and celebrate the significance of Atlanta's largest Muslim community gathering30 on Eid-ul-Fitr, recognizing its role in fostering unity and cultural appreciation among diverse31 populations.32 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed33 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to the Aligarh34 Alumni Association of Atlanta (AAAA).35 S.
