A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life of Trooper Chase Winston Redner and dedicatin g an intersection in his1
memory; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, Trooper Chase Winston Redner was highly regarded by th e citizens of his3
community and state and by local government officials as a person of unquestioned integrity4
and dedication to the sound principles of law enforcement; and5
WHEREAS, Trooper Redner was born on January 5, 1993, the belove d son of Linda6
Stancil-Redner and Richard Redner; and7
WHEREAS, he earned his bachelor's degree from the University of North Georgia and8
graduated from the 103rd Trooper School with the Georgia State Patrol; and9
WHEREAS, Trooper Redner was a member of the Specialized Crash Reconstruction Team10
and exhibited extraordinary devotion to duty, outstanding loyal ty, fine leadership, and11
meticulous attention to detail in all his duties; and12
WHEREAS, Trooper Redner's life was tragically cut short in the line of duty on13
February 20, 2024; and14

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkab le and distinguished15
Georgian be recognized appropriately by dedicating an intersection in his memory.16
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ENACTED BY THE GENERAL17
ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA that the intersection of State Route 400 an d Whelchel18
Road/Burnt Stand Road in Lumpkin County is dedicated as the Trooper First Class 2 Chase19
W. Redner Memorial Intersection.20
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Transportation is authorized and21
directed to erect and maintain appropriate signs dedicating the Trooper First Class 2 Chase22
W. Redner Memorial Intersection.23
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed24
to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for dis tribution to the family of25
Trooper Chase Winston Redner and to the Department of Transportation.26
