25 LC 112 3507 House Resolution 714 By: Representatives Jones of the 143rd, McQueen of the 61st, Jackson of the 68th, McClain of the 109th, and Herring of the 145th A RESOLUTION Commending Brittany Thompkins, recipient of the 2025 Georgia Si ngle Parent "Legacy1 Builders" Award; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Brittany Thompkins of Macon, Georgia, has recently been named a recipient3 of the 2025 Georgia Single Parent "Legacy Builders" Award in recognition of her exemplary4 dedication to her family, perseverance through adversity, and c ommitment to building a5 lasting legacy for her children; and6 WHEREAS, a devoted single mother of two, Brittany has consisten tly demonstrated7 resilience and strength in the face of financial hardship, choo sing to overcome challenges8 with courage, determination, and an unwavering focus on her children's success; and9 WHEREAS, driven by a desire to provide meaningful opportunities for her family, Brittany10 founded Sweet Serenity Lemonade as a creative solution to support her son's travel baseball11 expenses, ultimately transforming it into a thriving business v enture through her12 entrepreneurial spirit and hard work; and13 H. R. 714 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3507 WHEREAS, in addition to her business, Brittany successfully balances full-time employment14 with her parenting responsibilities, prioritizing her children' s growth, education, and15 well-being while modeling the values of selflessness, dedication, and responsibility; and16 WHEREAS, she is a valued member of Bibb Mount Zion Baptist Church, where she remains17 grounded in her faith and supported by a community that recognizes her perseverance and18 joy in uplifting others; and19 WHEREAS, her humility, work ethic, and positive outlook serve as a daily inspiration to her20 children and community, exemplifying the qualities of leadershi p and determination that21 define a true legacy builder; and22 WHEREAS, through her actions, Brittany Thompkins has instilled in her children the23 importance of resilience, initiative, and the pursuit of their goals, setting a powerful example24 of what can be achieved through perseverance and love.25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that26 the members of this body commend Brittany Thompkins for her outstanding achievements27 as a mother, entrepreneur, and community role model as well as congratulate her upon being28 named a recipient of the 2025 Georgia Single Parent "Legacy Builders" Award.29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized30 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to31 Brittany Thompkins.32 H.
